About Us

The PAWTUCKET CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH community worships in one of the oldest and most beautiful church buildings in Lowell.  Our magnificent stained glass windows are a national treasure, and our building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

We are a small thriving worship community committed to vibrant worship and celebration of God’s presence in our lives.  We welcome all and are proud to be an Open and Affirming Church.

Please join us on Sundays at 10:00 a.m.  Children, toddlers and babies are welcome.  Our young people are with us for the first part of the service and then leave for a Sunday School program.  After the service, we move to the Fellowship Hall for coffee and conversation.

We celebrate  Holy Communion, open to all believers,  on the first Sunday of each month.  Baptisms are scheduled in consultation with the Pastor and are held during a Sunday worship service.  Our pastor welcomes persons wishing to marry; please call 978-452-2144 for an appointment.

We are part of the United Church of Christ, a denomination born out of a merger between the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church in 1957.  Our denominational roots reach back to the arrival of the Pilgrims on the Mayflower and the arrival of the first German immigrants in the 1840’s.  As part of the United Church of Christ, this church is a member of the Andover Association and the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ.
